This report evaluates the effectiveness of a selected set of antimicrobial textile samples in preventing the growth of specified microorganisms.

Methodology:

A total of ten antimicrobial textile samples were evaluated against six different microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica, MRSA, Candida albicans, and Listeria monocytogenes. The samples were tested using disk diffusion methods as per the American Association for the Testing of Materials (AATMM) guidelines. The effectiveness of each sample was determined based on the number of colonies formed on agar gel after incubation with the test microorganism.

Results:

Of the ten samples evaluated, four were found to be highly effective against all six tested microorganisms. These four samples had a reduction of over 99% in the number of colonies formed on agar gel. The remaining six samples had varying degrees of effectiveness, with some showing a reduction of up to 80% in the number of colonies formed. However, none of the samples showed a complete absence of growth by the tested microorganisms.
